Poole Grammar School's reputation is that of an outstandingly successful grammar school. We are selective, and we assume that our pupils will proceed to the major universities to follow degree courses or into professions. We are also very proud of providing for our pupils a rounded education where drama, music, sport and a host of other activities are valued as much as academic success. The School values its emphasis on providing opportunities which will complement classroom activity, whether they are sporting competitions, overseas visits or the myriad of theatrical and field trips which departments offer. Extracurricular activities provide opportunities for pupils to develop leadership skills and contribute to the school community in many ways.

We view the education of our pupils as being a three-way process where the pupil, the school and parents all have their vital parts to play. To this end open communication is at the heart of the educational process with a strong tutorial system in place, which means no pupil would ever be without access to a listening ear as he navigates his way through adolescence.
