We are delighted to report an excellent set of GCSE results this year, with 62.13% of results graded at 7/A or better (up from 55.75% in 2018), and with 97,5% achieving a pass.

A number of subjects achieved at least 70% at 7-9  – Biology 77.52%, Chemistry 75%, Computing 80%, Electronics 85.71%, History 70.59%, Maths 72.32%, Music 73.33% and Physics 82.95%.  We are really pleased that over 90% achieved a strong pass in English Language, and 100% in Maths.

Many of our students achieved very well indeed, particularly when taking account of their individual starting points. 42 achieved at least 10 grades at 7 or better, four – Reuben Bennett, James Munday, Piers Tudberry-Swain and Jamie Winter – achieved an outstanding 10 Grade 9s and an A^ in Further Maths, with Spike Howarth, Sam Leggatt and David Storey achieving 10 Grade 9/A^ grades.

Head Teacher Andy Baker said “We are delighted that this group of students has surpassed the excellent results achieved in recent years, and set some new school records.  I am really pleased for my colleagues who worked incredibly hard to prepare our boys for what are still fairly new GCSE courses.  We wish all our students success in the next stage of their education or training, which for most will be in our Sixth Form’.
